This project focused on designing an AI-powered healthcare platform that connects patients, doctors, laboratories, hospitals, and administrators in one unified digital ecosystem. The platform features real-time booking flows, intelligent lab report analysis, role-based dashboards, and a seamless mobile experience, all designed with clarity and trust at the core.

Overview
LabLume is an AI-enabled smart laboratory and hospital management platform built to unify the healthcare experience across five user types Patients, Doctors, Laboratories, Hospitals, and Administrators. Developed as my BCA final year project in collaboration with MaiTexa Technologies, Calicut, the platform centralises medical reports, enables real-time test bookings, and uses an AI engine to convert raw lab data into actionable health insights and alerts. I handled the complete UI/UX design from user research and wireframes to a full Figma design system and high-fidelity prototypes across both a Flutter mobile app and five web dashboards. 01The problem
Healthcare in India is fragmented; patients struggle to find the right lab, doctors can't access patient history instantly, and hospitals manage reports through disconnected systems. LabLume needed a single platform that could serve five completely different user types, each with unique needs, workflows, and technical comfort levels, without making any of them feel overwhelmed.
02What I did
I owned the complete UI/UX design from discovery to final handoff. I conducted user research for each of the five roles Patient, Doctor, Lab, Hospital, and Admin creating separate personas, user journeys, and information architectures. I designed wireframes, built interactive Figma prototypes, created the full design system with reusable components and tokens, and collaborated with the MaiTexa Technologies engineering team throughout the build process to ensure accurate implementation.
03How it was made
The design process began with role-specific user research understanding what a patient needs versus what a hospital admin needs are completely different problems. I mapped user flows per role, identified friction points, and translated those into wireframes. The Figma design system was built early defining colour tokens, typography scales, spacing rules, and reusable components so every dashboard felt consistent despite serving different purposes. High-fidelity designs were built iteratively, with regular reviews with the engineering team to resolve design-technical conflicts before they became build problems.
04Result
The final platform successfully unified five user types into one coherent digital ecosystem. The live web application is accessible at labloom-rosy.vercel.app with fully functional registration and onboarding flows across all user types. The design system ensured visual consistency across all 5 dashboards and the Flutter mobile app, and the engineering team reported significantly smoother handoff compared to previous projects due to the quality of design documentation.
